Comment:
I moved to the US back in '88, just for a couple of years to broaden my horizons. I still haven't found my way back to Canada, but have lived in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, the San Francisco Bay area, and Washington state Along the way I married a wonderful Brit, similarly exiled to the US, and we had two daughters, now aged 31 (teaching classics at Stanford, and married to the amazing Matt) and 29 (still figuring out what do when she grows up). I do get out to Alberta once in a while, to visit family, friends, and some of the trails I used to hike regularly in the Rockies. Calgary has grown so much in the last 35 years, it is hardly recognizable. Regardless, Calgarians are still incredibly friendly and welcoming. |

Have any favorite memories to share?: All the experiments we did with equipment in the electronics lab. Spending a couple of hours destroying picture tubes from all of the donated televisions the school had received. Accessing the school board computer system using a 300 baud dial up modem. Setting the school board computer's clock to December 31, 1999, becoming one of the proofs of the Y2K problem :-). (Yeah, those systems didn't have very good security...)
Who do you remain in contact with from school?: Bill Pollitt, Steve Herring, Al Firth, Chris Manfredi (the most accomplished person of the class of '77, by a mile!).

Who did you hope to see at the reunion?:
I won't be there, but it would be cool if some sort of video meeting could be set up in conjunction with the reunion, so those of us who are "away" can check in. I'll try to plan ahead, and be in Calgary around Thanksgiving, 2027. |

Occupation: | Retired |
Comment:
I've retired since the last time I posted anything here. And Bailey, the fuzzy monster on my lap in the photo has left us, as is to be expected of our fur-babies. We have a new guy, same cross breed, but 50% bigger and just as goofy! I'm not sure if I'll make it to Calgary in October, but I will make my best effort. Fingers crossed. Penny says I'm not allowed to make the trip on my new (for me) motorbike, but we shall see. |

Have any favorite memories to share?: I can still sing all the songs from My Fair Lady. And I know a lot of the dialogue too.????
What have you been doing since 1977?: I moved to Vancouver at the end of 1979. After a few dead end jobs and halfhearted stabs at school I finally graduated with a B.A. (some people swear in my case it DOES stand for bad attitude) from Simon Fraser in 1988. Since then I had worked for the same company. Funny, but when I joined this outfit, everybody I knew was proud to say who they worked for, now many of us will go to great lengths to avoid saying the name (which has changed). I have taken early retirement.
Who did you hope to see at the reunion?: Anybody with less/greyer hair than me! ???? |

I worked for the next fourteen years , both part-time and fulltime, as a teachers aid, and a home support worker. I met my husband in Okotoks, and we were married in November of 1989. My family is my life, and we have had alot of fun raising our two boys in Medicine Hat. Joshua (16), and Zachery (15). Both boys have been involved in many sports, including baseball, football, Hockey, and now Lacrosse. My husband is the manager for Timber Tech Truss, and I do the invoicing for him 3x per week. We really enjoy our life in Medicine Hat, especially going to WHL Tiger hockey games.
